ALBUFEIRA ALGARVE

Albufeira is the largest and the most energetic resort town of the Algarve, and therefore it offers the widest selection of hotels and resorts.

A fishing village before it turned into one of the most famous holiday destinations in the Algarve in 1960th.

The tourist areas are divided into two main areas – the Strip and the Old Town.

The Historical centre, atmospheric old town of Albufeira is a labyrinth of traditional Portuguese streets and plazas, lined with Algarvean pale white and tiled homes with marvellous ocean views from the hills.

Montechoro area of town is the heart of Albufeira’s nightlife with clubs and bars. For a real taste of nightlife in the Algarve you have to go there!

The Strip is a 2km street loaded with bars and nightclubs that just scream “good times found here!”

Being a family-friendly resort town, it is filled with restaurants, shops and cafes and has everything you might need for a comfortable and entertaining vacation.

ALBUFEIRA AS A BEACH DESTINATION

The atmosphere is friendly  during the day and electric by night, when the town comes to life. Albufeira probably as famous for its nightlife as it is for its beaches.

Praia da Gale – white long sandy beach with small pools in the rocks. The perfect beach for small children.

Known as the “Fisherman’s Beach”, Praia Dos Pescadores is located along the Old Town and is one of the most popular beaches in Albufeira.

Great beach for long walks and at low tide, from which you can walk to the cave of Xorino is Praia Do Túnel.

Praia São Rafael is iconic and well known for its surrounding rock formations and crystal waters.

THINGS TO DO IN ALBUFEIRA

There are literally hundreds of activities, trips and tours to choose from: party boats, food making lessons, bars, and great restaurants.

Albufeira is known for being one of the top locations in Europe for a stag and hen do. 

There are many great golf courses and golf resorts around Albufeira. The closest courses are Pine Cliffs in Olhos de Agua, Salgados in Guia, and Balaia.

A local culinary specialty is a rich steamed stew dish of local shellfish, knows as Cataplana (named for the cookware used in its preparation). Similarly, the Caldeirada (or fish stew) and the simple grilled sardines, are also popular examples of the traditional dishes, typical of the Portugal and coastal areas.

Albufeira is situated near two theme parks: Zoomarine and Parque Aventura. Zoomarine has been voted the best theme park in Portugal and is a fun for the whole family. Parque Aventura is an adventure park that has zip lines, high rope courses, and paintball.

It has a lot more to offer: dolphins watching, paratrike, paragliding SUP and kayaks tours, jeep safari and wine tasting tours.
